Academic excellence is a tradition and priority of the University of Missouri Greek community. The Panhellenic Association prides itself on holding its members to a high standard of scholarship. The women’s Greek GPA is on average higher than the all-women’s university GPA and most sororities have programming rewarding its members for outstanding work in scholarship. All sororities have a minimum GPA required to be an active member, which varies from chapter to chapter. Members’ achievements are recognized through national and local scholarships, banquets and awards.
Greek Geek Scholars of the Month
Greek Geek Scholarships will begin again in September. September applications are due by 11:59pm on September 30, 2016.
Each month, PHA is awarding two $500 academic scholarships to students who exemplify what it means to value scholarship, one of the Panhellenic Association’s four core values. To apply, Greek women must complete the following application by the last day of each month. Along with the written application, you must also make a 1-2 minute video describing what scholarship means to you as a Panhellenic woman.
- 1-2 minutes in length
- Do not state your chapter
- Upload the video on YouTube
- Attach the link to the video in the space labeled on your application
- Be creative and have fun! We will primarily be judging on the content, rather than the quality
A committee will evaluate the applicants anonymously, and the selected Greek Geeks will be notified shortly after. Applicants can reapply each month if they were not previously chosen for the scholarship.
Applications for the April Greek Geek scholarship are due on April 30th by 11:59pm. Apply now.
Congratulations to our April scholarship winners Jessica York, Micaela Dea, Hailey Kerns, Christine Flaspohler!
